The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, Victor Olaiya, psc(+), has decorated newly promoted senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force following the approval of their promotions by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
According to a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer for the Assistant Inspector-General of Police Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, ASP Halima Mohammed, the decoration ceremony, held on Wednesday at the Conference Room of the Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, was conducted in the presence of members of the Zonal Management Team. The promotions cut across the Zone, the Federal Capital Territory, and the Niger State Police Commands.
Officers decorated during the ceremony included two Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) and one Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), among others. The promotions form part of ongoing efforts by the police leadership to reward dedication, professionalism, and exemplary service, while strengthening the leadership structure of the force.
In his remarks, AIG Olaiya congratulated the newly promoted officers, describing their elevation as well-deserved. He reminded them that advancement in rank comes with increased responsibility and charged them to uphold the core values of professionalism, discipline, proactiveness, and commitment in the discharge of their duties.
The brief but colourful ceremony was witnessed by senior officers, family members, and well-wishers, who joined in celebrating the milestone achieved by the officers.
The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to boosting morale and enhancing operational effectiveness through merit-based promotions and recognition of outstanding service.
