FCT, Kaduna CPs Lead Joint Patrol To Boost Border Security Ahead Of Festive Season

The Commissioners of Police of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Kaduna State have conducted a joint patrol along the Jere–Abuja Highway to strengthen border security and ensure the safety of residents and commuters during the 2025 festive season.

The coordinated patrol, held on Monday, December 22, 2025, was led by the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, alongside his Kaduna State counterpart, CP Mohammed Rabiu. The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by both commands to address cross-border security challenges and enhance policing collaboration.

Jere community, a strategic border settlement between the FCT and Kaduna State, serves as a critical intersection for commuter traffic and security operations. The joint exercise highlighted the shared responsibility and sustained cooperation between the two police commands in combating crime and ensuring public safety along the busy corridor.

The patrol also doubled as a confidence-building initiative aimed at reassuring residents, commuters, and road users along the FCT–Kaduna highway of the readiness of the police to guarantee safe passage, particularly during the festive period when vehicular and human movements are expected to rise.

The FCT Police Command has urged members of the public to remain vigilant, cooperate with security personnel, and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency lines: 08032003913 and 08061581938.
