The Federal Capital Territory Police Command on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, conducted a show of force and confidence-building patrol across strategic locations within the FCT metropolis as part of efforts to guarantee comprehensive security during the festive season.
According to a press release signed by the FCT Police Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the exercise was aimed at boosting public confidence, deterring criminal activities, and demonstrating the Command’s operational readiness to protect residents and visitors throughout the period.
Areas covered during the patrol included Wuse Market, Garki Area 10, Area 1, Garki Modern Market, Durumi, Berger, Maitama, and Mabushi. The initiative formed part of a deliberate strategy to maintain high police visibility in busy commercial hubs, recreational and worship centres, residential areas, and major transit corridors within the city.
The operation was led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Department of Operations, DCP Isyaku Sharu, with personnel and operational assets strategically deployed to identified flashpoints and public spaces across the metropolis.
The show of force followed a recent joint patrol by the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, and his Kaduna State counterpart along the Jere–Abuja Highway, highlighting sustained inter-command collaboration to enhance security along critical entry routes into the Federal Capital Territory.
The FCT Police Command assured residents of adequate and proactive security deployments throughout the festive period and urged members of the public to remain vigilant. Citizens were also encouraged to promptly report suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency lines: 08032003913 and 08061581938.
