In the ongoing fight against crime in the Federal Capital Territory, police operatives from the FCT Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit arrested one Buhari Muhammad, a 20-year-old kidnapping kingpin, Muhammad Sabiu, a 20-year-old, Isah Abdullahi, Hamzat Musa, a 21-year-old, Fatima Abdullahi, a 22-year-old, and Zuliat Yusuf, a 23-year-old, in a hotel located in Bassa Village.
The notorious kidnapping syndicate were behind the kidnapping of Joshua Eze, the husband of Blessing Eze, who was shot during the kidnapping on January 27, 2024, and was later freed on January 28, 2024, according to a statement released on Monday, February 5, 2024, and signed by SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer.
The suspects, who have subsequently admitted to the crime and previous kidnapping cases in the Territory, had one AK-47 weapon, ten mobile phones, three hundred and forty-five thousand naira in cash, and some other valuables.
The public was reassured by FCT Commissioner of Police CP Benneth C. Igweh that he would not relent in his efforts to eradicate criminal activity in all its forms, even if the inquiry is still underway.
