The Nigeria Police Force has successfully arrested two individuals in an alleged assassination plot, thanks to the hard work of its operatives. One of the people who was arrested is the chairman of a local government area in Benue State.
The Local Government Chairman allegedly hired a militia with the nefarious goal of assassinating the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Aondona Hycenth Dajoh, according to preliminary investigations, according to a statement released on Monday, January 22, 2024, and signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi. After obtaining reliable information about the intended killing, the members of the Force Intelligence Department’s Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) moved quickly to take action.
Presently, both individuals are under police custody and are actively assisting authorities with the ongoing investigation. Maintaining the safety and security of civilians and public authorities is the Nigeria Police Force’s unwavering responsibility.
