Gombe Police Commissioner Expresses Appreciation For State Government Support

The Gombe Police Commissioner, CP Hayatu Usman alongside the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Operations Department, DCP Madu Baba Sulaiman and Assistant Commissioner of Police Department of Finance and Administration ACP Ilya Doma on Thursday, paid an official visit to the Gombe State Deputy Governor, Dr. Manasseh Daniel Jatau, to familiarize and express gratitude for the support rendered by the to the command.

A statement on Thursday, 18th January 2024 signed by the Gombe State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Muazu Abubakar, said that CP Hayatu highlighted to the Deputy Governor that he is not new in the State Command being the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of operations before his elevation to the rank of Commissioner of Police and deployed back to the State as 22nd Commissioner of Police.

He urged the State government not to relent in its support to ensure the effective functioning of the Police.

In his response, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Manasseh Daniel Jatau congratulated CP Hayatu Usman on his elevation and formally welcomed him to the state.

He commended the efforts of the police command in their swift response to emergencies sighting the apprehension of an 18-year-old young man who killed Aisha Damori of Jeka Da Fari in less than 48 hours.

Furthermore, Dr. Jatau emphasized the need to expand Remembrance Day for fallen heroes to include all security agencies, not just limiting it to one agency.

He recognized the significant contributions made by various security agencies in the fight against insurgencies and terrorism, to acknowledge their efforts.

The Deputy Governor assured the Commissioner of Police and the command that the present government would continue to support the Nigeria Police as the lead agency in maintaining internal security.

He recognized the supporting role played by other agencies in maintaining law and order in Gombe State.
