The Integrity Youth Alliance has dismissed as misleading the claim by a former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, that his protest led to the retirement of more than 500 police officers allegedly involved in age falsification.
In a statement issued on Thursday, 4 December 2025, and signed by its Publicity Secretary, Danjuma Lamido, the group clarified that it had on 6 November 2024 submitted a detailed petition to both the Inspector General of Police and the Chairman of the Police Service Commission concerning irregularities within the Nigeria Police Force.
According to the Alliance, the Nigeria Police Force subsequently invited its representatives to defend the petition, during which they presented documents and other evidence to support their claims.

The organisation stressed that the process was institutional and procedural, not the result of any protest action as claimed by Mr Sowore.
The group described Sowore’s statement, made at the Federal High Court premises, as an inaccurate representation of events. It urged him to refrain from attributing credit for actions he was not involved in and advised that any concerns regarding the Inspector General of Police should be pursued through lawful channels.
The Integrity Youth Alliance reiterated its commitment to upholding truth, due process, and constructive civic participation in the interest of national development.
