… I Have Lost A Boss, Friend, Brother And A Caring Son – Eze
Erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has expressed shock over the demise of his close ally and confidant, the Waziri Jimeta in Adamawa State, Mal. Inuwa Mo-Allayidi, who died a few moments ago.
Recounting his encounter with the deceased, Eze said in 1989, he was posted to Gongola State for the compulsory National Youth Service schemes. The posting was influenced by the then Uncial Students Affairs officer as a punishment for challenging some of his actions as a student leader.
With a prior expectation to serve in Cross Rivers State, where then Vice Chancellor, UNICAL, Late Prof. Charles Effiong, who considered him a son, was on hand to help him secure a job after the one-year scheme, Eze said he was devastated upon being inundated with the news of his mobilisation to the defunct Gongola State.
With the development, the dream of securing a job-free service died off, and after battling with God all night, Eze said he got assurance from God that He would make a greater impact in Gongola than in Cross Rivers State. With the assurance and, of course, encouragement from his fiancée, Lady Ada Henrietta Nwaorgu who later became his wife, Eze embarked on the two-day journey to Gongola for national service.
Eze would later emerge as the Best Corps Member after their orientation camp and would later be appointed Corps Liaison Officer (CLO) in charge of all the other CLOs.
EZE ENCOUNTERS MAL. INUWA MO-ALLAYIDI
Chief Eze was posted to serve under Mal. Inuwa as Chief Administrator of the defunct Yola Local Govt Council. It was through Mal. Inuwa and Late Alh. Gidado Abubakar who then was the Executive Chairman of the Council, that Eze became a household name in the defunct Gongola State and later Adamawa State after the state was split into two—Adamawa and Taraba States.
Upon the creation of Taraba State, Alh. Gidado Abubakar was appointed the Director General of the Ministry of Works from whence he facilitated the contract that enabled Eze to set up his first business enterprise, – Eze Continental Sports Outfit which later metamorphosed into Eze Continental Investment Ltd.
It was also through that contract that he married his Lovebird EVANG. ADA Chioma, Eze, paying off all the dowry entitlement in one day without leaving any item unattended.
With his formal settlement in Adamawa State, Mal. Inuwa Mo-Allayidi later became the WAZIRI JIMETA -indicating his acceptance as a great Warrior amongst his people. An administrator par excellence, humane and one of the most detribalised Nigerians who loved all regardless of tribe.
This man not only accepted Chief Eze as a brother but did everything within his power to ensure his comfort and safety throughout his over 22 yearsof stay in this wonderful State with the late Lamido of Adamawa, HRH Alh. Aliyu Mustpaha considers him a true son of Adamawa State.
To cement their relationship, Eze christened his son after him, INUWA and asked him to also give him his English name, Alfred.
In conclusion, “I must confess that my posting to the defunct Gongola State was not only divine but God’s personal design to make me what I am today. In that State, I was privileged to have contacts with who is who from that State, then Rear Admiral Murtala Nyako whose donation caused us to build the first Bus stop in Yola and donation of series items both to the Police Command, Army, Yola Central Mosque, less privileged Homes etc, the Gambos and of course Atiku Abubakar who launched me politically at national level, the Tukurs, the Bonis, but could I forget my mothers, Hajiya S. L. A. Abubakar, H. E. Ambassador Fatima Balla Abubakar and of course the Mama General, H. E. Titi Abubakar, great women. God will surely bless you all for the great roles you played in my life.
Reacting to the news of Inuwa’s death, Eze said – “a few hours ago, I received a devasting call both from my late brother’s son Abubakar and wife that my son, my friend, my boss have gone to stay with his Maker. What can I do or say but to pray God to receive the gentle soul of this wonderful human and grant him eternal rest?
Dear Inuwa, your death has devastated all those of us who have crossed your Golden Path and may God in His Mercy receive and grant your soul eternal rest, Amen.
Adieu my brother,
Adieu my Son
Adieu my boss
Adieu WAZIRI
