AIG Zone 2 Cautions Officers Against Extortion, Bribery, And Unprofessional Conducts

AIG Olatoye A. Durosinmi, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, has expressed his displeasure with reports of extortion, bribery, and unprofessional conduct in a lecture with officers and men of the Zonal Command on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the M.D. Abubakar Conference Hall, Onikan, Lagos. He also issued a clear warning that officers found to violate the law would not be spared.

SP Ayuba Tunni Umma, the PPRO Zone 2 Lagos spokesperson, reportedly stated in a press release that the AIG stated that technology-driven policing was necessary to reduce crime and criminality along the highways in both Lagos and Ogun States because of his extensive knowledge of the area. He also emphasised the importance of collaborating with major relevant stakeholders to ensure public safety.

In carrying out their official duties, officers and men were urged by AIG Durosinmi to always instil a fear of God and professionalism, keeping in mind the impact of their actions or inactions on their loved ones, children, and the public at large.

The AIG urges the public to always work with the Nigeria Police in the fight against insecurity by offering pertinent information and assistance when needed, all the while confirming his commitment to combating crime.
