After winning an astounding four major prizes in the ICT peer review session of the 11th National Council on Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy (NCCIDE) conference in Kano, Anambra State has become a force to be reckoned with.
Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf, the governor of Kano State, hosted the meeting, which was presided over by the honourable Dr. Bosun Tijani, minister of communications, innovation, and digital economy.
Building a livable and thriving Smart Mega City is the administration’s goal, and Mr. Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, is heavily utilising technology and digital innovation to make this vision a reality.

The Best State in Digital Technology Development Overall Winner is: Anambra State emerged as the clear winner in this instance, earning the most points across the board and demonstrating their unwavering commitment to propelling the state forward in the digital sphere. The governor of Kano State, His Excellency, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf, gave this honour to Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata (CFA), MD/CEO of the Anambra State ICT Agency.
Top State for the Development of Digital Infrastructure Technology: Following the complete implementation of the Zero Right of Way (RoW) policy and the establishment of an Internet Exchange Point, Anambra State was acknowledged as the leading state in the development of ICT infrastructure in this category. This underscores the state’s dedication to utilising technology to create a strong foundation for the prosperity of its citizens. Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Minister of CIDE, gave out this prize.
First Runner-up in e-Government Implementation: Anambra came in second because of its creative e-government projects, which demonstrate how well the state uses technology for governance. The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Director General, Mallam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, gave out the prize.
Runner-up in First Runner-Up: Human Capital Development for Digital Technology This honour highlights the state’s dedication to developing a workforce and society at large that is knowledgeable and adept with technology. Alhaji Mohammed Othman, the Kano State Commissioner for Science, Technology, and Innovation, gave out the grand prize.
Notably, under the visionary leadership of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, Anambra’s remarkable performance at the yearly gathering of the federal and state governments highlights its strategic vision and exemplary but meticulous execution in the areas of infrastructure, e-government, and human capital development.
Following the earlier acclaim obtained during the ICT Peer Review session, where Anambra’s presentation presented by Dr. Florence Idigo, a Director in the State ICT Agency, got tremendous applause and commendation from industry professionals, came the awards during the official opening ceremony.
Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, CFA, the MD/CEO of the Anambra State ICT Agency, accepted the awards on Mr Governor’s behalf and expressed how much he appreciated the Governor for setting up the supportive environment and providing the vision that drives the Agency in keeping with the motto “Everything Technology, Technology Everywhere.”
In appreciation of the complete solution team’s cooperation and dedication to Mr. Governor’s vision, CFA also dedicated the prizes to the ICT Agency team.
